Creating a data experience
The work of a financial advisor it's really complex. You need to focus on your clients while consulting a massive amount of data tables, news and graphs. This time the challenge was to give them a web tool to boost their work and make their life easier.
From the Research to the sketch
Our partners of Intranet Management did an extensive research with Interviews, a co-design workshop, tree testing for the IA and three personas. Our work was to transform all this data into design material.First we created a list of user stories to convert the user needs into actionable flow, then using the user stories we started to sketch inspired by the material of the co-design workshop. The result is a rapid sketch work to illustrate the idea of a new vision.
What we did
usability testing, interaction design, experience design, corporate document design, prototyping
Wireframes and Low-fi Prototype
When the direction was defined, we started our process of refinement. From the pen and paper sketches to the digital wireframes. The complexity of interactions was so high that we needed an html prototype to structure all the elements of the prototype. The first prototype helped us to understand the difficulties of searching through financial data and graphs.
Mockup and Hi-fi Prototype
Iteration after iteration we started to set the rules for interactions and to organize the informations in a simpler way. With a strong foundation for the layouts and the information architecture we leveled up the game starting to create a visual language by refining the spaces and the typography.
Remote Usability Testing
With an hi-fi prototype there was only one thing left to do to validate our design assumptions: the usability testing. For this project we tested our prototype with 10 people resulting in more than 12 hours of materials and a lot of quantitative data. The results were good, we had useful insights that led us to the final step of the project.
Final Look & Feel (visual design)
The Pareto principle says that in a project the easy part is to achieve the 80%, but what makes really the difference is to overcome the 80% and to fill the remain 20% to make a project unforgettable. With the insights of the usability test we tried to fill that 20% , so we worked again on the mockup and this is the final result for the UI and UX of this experience.
Corporate Document Design
We love design and we have the skill to design also editorial products. Thanks to the knowledge of the users and a clear view of the art direction of Banca Passadore we created two templates for their corporate communications. Combining brand basic guidelines with our touch, we created two editorial products for internal and external corporate communication.
